These LED display digits from Velleman are truly versatile! Come with 2 large seven segment LED display digits per kit (K8063). These are bright red jumbo size 7-segment LED displays that can be used for almost any purpose. Multiple LED digits can be easily linked together to create large displays such as scoreboards, timers, clocks, counters, temperature, almost anything you can imagine! Includes snap on enclosure for each digit. Up to 255 digits can be individually addressed from a PC using the included serial interface software. LED display seven segment digit kit has been tested at up to 164 feet (50 meters) between PC and LED displays.
Some users of this product may be required to write their own application program. Other than the downloadable software K8063demo.exe Velleman does not provide any ready to use software. The demo software merely depicts the general idea, and the builder should study the source code to familiarize themselves with the way the LED displays are controlled. The included manuals do have information about addressing and command sequences for the LED display digits. The downloadable demo software allows you to test the LED display digits, and provides a handy tool to determine the sum of the LED display segment values.
LED display digits with serial interface is an electronic kit that includes 2 seven segment digits. Velleman rates this kit as a "skill level 4" (advanced) on a scale from 1 to 5. LED display digits kit user assembly is required.
