The 3M Perfect-It Paint Finishing Pad Kit includes every pad you need for compounding, polishing and finishing in collision repair. This kit contains Perfect-It foam pads for compounding, polishing and ultrafine polishing, as well as a 100% low-lint wool compounding pad. All pads feature Hookit attachment and are designed for use with Perfect-It compounds and polishes.

For compounding, you can choose the consistency of a foam pad or the cutting speed of a wool pad, without the linting. Our 3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Polishing Pad is designed for removing sand scratches and compounding swirls with very low sling. For finishing, Our 3M™ Perfect-It™ Ultrafine Foam Polishing Pad is designed to completely remove polish swirls and holograms even from difficult dark-colored automotive surfaces for a showroom finish.
All pads feature a diameter of 4 inches, excellent for control and access in small areas and tight spaces. Each pad has an inset for easy centering to rotary polishers, and Hookit™ hook-and-loop attachment makes for quick pad change-outs.
Featuring our Top-Performing Perfect-It™ Pads
We developed each of these pads as part of our Perfect-It™ Paint Finishing System to keep pace with evolving paint and clear coat technologies. Our foam compounding pads are generally less aggressive and produce a finer finish than wool pads, ideal for the critical compounding steps of paint refinishing. Wool compounding pads generally deliver higher cutting speed. The 3M™ Perfect-It™ Low Lint Wool Compounding Pad included in the kit is made from 100% wool, made in the USA from globally sourced materials, and has a low-linting feature which virtually eliminates tiny lint residue on the automotive surface.
All pads are designed for use with 3M™ Perfect-It™ EX Rubbing Compound, 3M™ Perfect-It™ EX Machine Polish and 3M™ Perfect-It™ EX Ultrafine Machine Polish. 3M recommends using these pads with 3M™ Buffer, Pistol Grip, 3 Inch, PN28354.

Single-Sided Foam Pads and Our Hookit™ Attachment System
The Hookit™ attachment system has a hook-and-loop feature which makes attachment, removal, and re-attachment clean and easy. It also facilitates use and re-use of the Perfect-It™ pad for maximum product life. Hookit™ sheets have a brushed nylon loop backing of the type most commonly used in everyday hook-and-loop applications. Every pad in the 3M™ Perfect-It™ Paint Finishing Pad Kit features hooks which grip the brushed nylon loop backing of your Hookit™ backup pad. It’s simple: just attach the pad and start compounding. The pad removes just as cleanly and easily. The Hookit™ system is designed for work spaces and applications where adhesive backed abrasives may become contaminated by dust, dirt or debris.
