I work on a model railroad creating many of the lighting effects, and having to guess at resistor values for LEDs was always a hassle - alligator clips, multiple resistors and getting up and down from under the layout to see the result. Now, I simply dial up the value and see the result immediately. It saves allot of time and more importantly, my knees!
