MG Chemicals 8462-1G Translucent Silicone Grease, 3.78 L

Made to Order, 1 Pail per Order

Translucent Silicone Grease. A water repellant, non-melting, dielectric grease lubricant that provides superior protection against corrosion and oxidation. This is an amorphous fumed, silica thickened, polysiloxane based compound. Provides superior corrosion protection. Lubricates and protects against moisture on electrical systems and automotive assemblies. Compatible with most plastics and elastomers. Great as a lubricant and moisture barrier on plastic pipe and o-ring assemblies, gaskets, and connectors. Use translucent silicone grease for lubrication of plastic and rubber parts to provide a moisture barrier or seal. Offers excellent dielectric properties. Conforms to the requirement of 21 CFR section 178.3570, "Lubricants for incidental food contact". 58 to 482 degrees F Broad temperature range. Translucent paste appearance. 63,500 cps Viscosity. Arc Resistance: 120 seconds. RoHS compliant.

8462 Silicone Grease is a translucent, hydrophobic, silicone dielectric compound that offers premium water repellency and corrosion protection. The main purpose of dielectric grease is to seal, waterproof, lubricate, and insulate both indoor and outdoor electrical connections with a layer of non-hardening dielectric paste. It is electrically insulating but allows current to flow through metal contacts, providing environmental protection without inhibiting connectivity or causing short circuits. It is also good for lubricating and sealing rubber and plastic parts.

Silicone dielectric grease is commonly used on outdoor lighting, scoreboards, traffic lights, high voltage poles, transformers, disconnects, switching mechanisms, electrical contacts, spark plugs, battery terminals, fasteners, seals, gaskets, plastic insulators, and O-rings. This silicone-based grease is useful in marine environments and harsh weather conditions.
