Description
3M Microfinishing Film Disc 362L is a fast cutting abrasive made with aluminum oxide mineral and a polyester film backing. This abrasive delivers precise, uniform, close-tolerance finishes on a variety of substrates.Made for Microfinishing
Combining the strength of the polyester film backing with the qualities of micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral, 3M™ Microfinishing Film Disc 362L is a good match for work pieces that require precise, uniform, close-tolerance finishes.
Our 3M™ Microfinishing Film Disc 362 is available in a wide grade range, so operators can choose the right grade for their part. The grades are also color-coded to help operators reduce the risk for error when there are multiple grades in a sequence. It may be used on a variety of substrates, including clear coats, gelcoat, soft and hard composites, metals, softwoods and hardwoods, primer, fiberglass, sealers, paint, solid surfaces and particle board.
Balancing Strength with Flexibility
The high-strength polyester film backing on 3M™ Microfinishing Film Disc 362L serves as a consistent base for fine mineral grains, helping the abrasive produce repeatable finishes and stock removal throughout its life. The film is made with micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral, a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is tough and self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in sanding and finishing. While strong, it tends to leave a soft, fine scratch pattern.
