Description
Scotch-Brite High Strength Bonded Cleaning Brush was designed for medium duty cleaning and polishing applications.Recommended Applications
Among our Scotch-Brite™ Flap and Cleaning Brushes, the Scotch-Brite™ High Strength Bonded Cleaning Brush falls right in the middle in terms of its aggressiveness. Typical applications include medium-duty cleaning and polishing of sheet or coil stock, removing light oxides and contaminants and deburring stamped laser cut parts. These parts are often pre-programmed to meet close tolerances, so it’s important to effectively remove small imperfections without significantly altering the base material.
A Breakdown of Cleaning Brushes
Our Scotch-Brite™ High Strength Bonded Cleaning Brush is durable enough to rid the substrate of burrs but still maintain part geometry. It’s made with aluminum oxide, which is a tough and durable mineral that softly abrades the surface to leave a fine scratch pattern. Operators will get the consistency and responsiveness they’ve come to expect from Scotch-Brite™ abrasives, but each variation of the brush offers unique capabilities based on grade and density. Overall, we engineer Scotch-Brite™ cleaning brushes by bonding circular sections of non-woven material to a cylindrical core. The bonded construction helps strengthen the brush and enhance its durability.
The Many Benefits of Open Web Abrasives
Non-woven technology makes our Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives unique. A combination of fiber strands, resin, and abrasive mineral forms a thick, open web. The spring-like nature of the fibers responds to contours and effectively removes unwanted burrs, soils and contaminants while maintaining the geometry of the workpiece, which in turn reduces rework and boosts productivity. Gaps in the web allow swarf to escape, so debris does not clog the mineral.
Fibers in the web continually break down with use to reveal fresh mineral for exceptional consistency, superior cut performance, and extremely long service life. Scotch-Brite™ products not only enhance productivity, but also increase operator safety by reducing the need for cleaning chemicals and pastes, and replacing wire brushes that can break off and cause injury. From aesthetic finishing to weld blending, deburring, and more, Scotch-Brite™ abrasives work fast and deliver consistent results, part after part.
Note: When ordering a bonded construction cleaning brush, please allow an additional 1-1/4" to provide clearance for the 5/8" lock collars located at both ends of the brush. For instance, if you require 40" of usable brush width, order a 40" wide brush. This brush, however, when measured at the core will actually be 41-1/4" including the lock collars.
