Wiha Wednesday – Some Nice Sets to Try Out

Wiha not only has quality tools, but they also like to put together sets that are affordable and also showcase variety. We’ve highlighted some of those before, but Wiha makes so many good combo sets that it always bears talking about them.

One undersung set is the Wiha 30991 Industrial SoftGrip which is an 18 piece set that comes in a nice zipper case. The set includes:  combination pliers, long nose pliers, a diagonal cutter, adjustable pliers, an assortment of essential screwdrivers and SAE wrenches, all of which are made from ESD dissipative material. It’s a great set that has some of the most commonly used tools for electricians and other trades. A similar set, with four less pieces is the Wiha 32192 which also has a zipper case. It lacks the wrenches and adjustable pliers of the other set, but it has a little more specialized appeal in that the tools are insulated and there are two different kinds of long nosed pliers.

Another specialized set is the insulated Wiha 31691 which is a 24 piece set that comes in a hard case. This set includes a ½” socket as well as metric sockets 8 – 10, 12 – 17, 19, 22 and 24. Included also are two different extension bars and an electrician’s knife. All of these are insulated so they’ve undergone Wiha’s strict test requirements up to 10,000 volts, but for safety reasons are certified for use up to 1,000 volts.

Lastly, Wiha’s 32399 Industrial Pliers and driver set come in tough canvas tool bag and contain just about any type of pliers you might need starting out. It contains lineman’s pliers, two different long nose pliers with cutter, and two different kinds of cutters in addition to some common sized screwdrivers. Again, these are all insulated and come in a handy bag.

If you need some tools to build out your tool box, or if you are looking for some all-in-one sets for on the go, these might be worth considering. If you have a favorite, make sure to leave us product reviews for your favorites and tell us about your favorite on Facebook or Instagram!
